Manny Godoy

Associate Director, Equity in Schools He/Him

Emmanuel (Manny) Godoy is an Associate Directors of Equity in Schools at Beloved Community. Manny has passionately worked alongside students, families, teachers, school leaders, and district leaders for the past 12 years in Milwaukee, WI. From 2009-2014, he taught alongside his 2nd and 3rd grade students, their families, and school colleagues to create an academically rigorous, culturally responsive, and inclusive classroom. In 2014, he transitioned to coaching and mentoring 1st and 2nd year teachers who worked across public, charter, and private K-8 schools. In 2018, he joined an elementary school leadership team on the southside of Milwaukee as the first Latinx and bilingual Assistant Principal.

During the 2020-2021 school year, Manny took an additional role within his school organization as the DEI manager for the network. Within this role, he worked alongside the CEO, Chief Talent and Strategy Officer, regional executive directors, Talent/HR department, principals, and assistant principals in order to identify, disrupt, and shift inequitable systems, structures, policies, and practices within the organization. Manny holds a B.A. in Digital Cinema, M.A. in Urban Education (specialization in Bilingual Education), M.B.A. (specialization in School Leadership), K-12 teaching & administrators license, and Diversity & Inclusion certificate. 

Manny is a proud first-generation, bilingual, Peruvian American who was born and raised on the northside of Chicago, IL. Manny strives to lead with heart, hustle, and humility within his personal and professional life. He is honored and inspired to work with Beloved Community and their clients to spark curiosity, interrogate neutrality, and champion success for those who are most impacted by racism, systemic oppression, and white supremacy culture.
